I created ideadumpbox.com as a personal project -- a place to collect and share the numerous ideas I have for game settings...settings designed for use with roleplaying games, like Dungeons & Dragons. It's meant to help me organize my ideas, and also to showcase the work that has gone into each project -- my concepts along with the work of other writers and artists.

In addition to game products, I will be publishing comic books based on each setting. The first of these, set in the same universe as Across the Stars and Ultramassive & Unexplained, is already written (by the incredible Ariana Ramos) and illustration (by the equally incredible David Lewis Johnson) is almost finished. I've also secured the exclusive rights to publish a comic book based on someone else's game -- expect to hear more about that in the early part of 2017. Eventually, I want to expand with additional licensing deals.

I have a passion for gaming and being creative, and I love sharing that passion with others. It inspires me to keep making more things, especially when my ideas resonate with others writers, artists, or just gamers in general. Hopefully, this website meets that need for myself and others. I hope you get something from visiting this website -- an idea you can use in your own game, or some insight into my process for designing a setting. Above all else, I hope you find this website useful.

I'm always interested in conversation; feel free to reach out to me at thesecretdm@gmail.com. I'm also always interested in finding new talent to work with...writers and artists included. If you're looking for work, you're welcome to email me.

Thanks for visiting!

Coming Together

It's taking me awhile to get everything together, but little by little, this website is coming together. I'm really happy with my decision to go with a "photographer" layout...the image boxes help feature each original concept in a more visually appealing way than I could pull off on my normal blog, thesecretdm.com. I'll probably be working on this for a few more weeks, but at the very least, the official banner is done and in place. Created by my friend David Lewis Johnson, the banner features me-as-machine, and I couldn't be more excited for it. It really turned out great. David has always done amazing work for me; you'll see his name come up quite a bit in reference to the various projects I'm hosting on this website.

Next I'll talk about the purpose of this website -- what I hope to accomplish by having this set up -- as well as upcoming business plans, which is an entirely separate endeavor (but a necessary one, if I'm to see any of these ideas to some kind of final, publishable state).

As always I thank you for your interest in my creations, and I can't wait to show you more. Not just the fifteen (give or take) concepts I'm currently featuring here, but the various other ideas I have, either shelved or just starting to coalesce. Hopefully you'll find them enjoyable.

It begins

So I finally decided it was time to put together a visual list of projects I'm thinking about.

Each of the projects featured on this website is something I've thought about, and I tend to get very interested in an idea for awhile before I get bored and move on to something new. Eventually I'll go back and work some more on an earlier idea, so eventually everything ends up progressing forward, but not until I've had at least five or a dozen more ideas first.

So here is a place for me to collect my thoughts on each of the various ideas I have, and who knows? Maybe something here will interest you, too.

If you have any questions about anything on this website, please reach out to me: thesecretdm@gmail.com. I'll try to respond as quickly as I can.

Thanks for your interest!
